The MFC Board Election voting took place from Monday 2 December to Sunday 15 December 2024.

Below is the communication plan rolled out to ensure the Board’s four endorsed candidates were successful. 

At the AGM, the President (when asked) indicated that he had no knowledge of how Jay Clark came to write his article which was posted online on Sunday 1 December 2024, the eve of voting) at exactly the same time that members were receiving a message from the President regarding their “strongly endorsed” candidates. Further articles appeared on 11 and 13 December containing the endorsements.

This is important, as the MFC Election rules prohibit Board candidates from conducting interviews with journalists which then appear in the media.

When questioned in writing on the coincidence of a news article at the same time as the President’s endorsement letter to members the Returning Officer (who is also the Company Secretary to the Board) replied with the response “to specify who you believe has breached them and how”.
